Is volunteering at the top of your New Year’s resolution list? Want a way to give back? Look no further than Muir Woods Earth Day. As of the most visited national parks with an estimated 1.5 million visitors annually, Muir Woods needs a facial and you can help.
Come on out this Saturday, January 26, 2013 and help keep Muir Woods beautiful. You can enjoy the majestic redwoods while helping to preserve the park. Projects are available for all ages and skill levels. Projects include deck flossing, habit restoration and weed removal, mulching, planting, tending the forest floor, and trail maintenance throughout the Redwood Creek Watershed. After the cleanup everyone is invited to stay for lunch.
It’s an early start rain or shine with registration at 8:30 a.m. at the Muir Woods Entrance and Visitor Center. Online registration is available for family-friendly projects, individuals and groups (5 or less), or groups (larger than 5). As always Muir Woods parking will be limited, and carpooling is encouraged.
It’s going to be a great day!
