On Jan. 16, a Chihuahua mix arrived as a stray to the Los Angeles County Animal Care and Control in Baldwin Park, Calif.

Judging by a video which was published on Jan. 25, it appears that the staff at the facility was unaware that Frida was an expectant mom. What is noted is the fact that Frida is a sweet, easy-going dog who should meld well into most households.

On Thursday, a volunteer who takes photos of the dogs who are impounded at the facility captured a photo of Frida curled up with a newborn puppy - whether or not there are more puppies is unclear.

What is clear is that a crowded animal control facility is not the best environment for a mother and her newborn puppy.
