A Mohawk guy at an inauguration may not be typical, but Bobak Ferdowsi is about to change all that. The handsome flight director at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory will march in the inaugural parade on Monday when President Obama takes the oath for his second term in office, according to a Jan. 18, 2013 report by Space.com via MSNBC. Unfortunately, he won't be sporting his signature hairstyle.
Ferdowsi made quite a splash last year following the successful landing of the Mars Rover Curiosity. Video of NASA's command center revealed Ferdowsi and his unusual style. Instantly people wanted to know more about the man with the Mohawk. Ferdowsi blew away stereotypes by looking the exact opposite of how people expected the flight director at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory to look.
When this Mohawk guy shows up at the inauguration, he will be wearing a brand new hairstyle, but it probably won't be anything like the other folks in the crowd. In fact, he already promised Wired that people can expect "something fun for the occasion."
Will you be looking for the Mohawk guy at the inauguration? Here's a tip. He will be marching alongside a full-scale model of the Curiosity rover that landed on Mars in August 2012 and a life-size replica of the new Orion capsule, and he'll be the one with the cool hair.
