The retail version of “Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition” has been a consistent seller since it was released last May as evidenced by the fact that it has consistently shown up in the top 10 of NPD sales through March 2014. Best Buy discounted the game 30 percent on Sunday so it was no surprise when Amazon followed suit just a few hours later.

“Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition” is on sale for $13.99 at Amazon, which is a $6 discount from its normal $19.99 price. That makes console version of the game nearly half the price of its $26.95 PC older brother.

Sony and 4J Studios have announced that “Minecraft: Playstation 3 Edition” will also receive a retail release some time this May. It will be interesting to see if the game’s release will be enough to keep “Minecraft” in the top 10 of the NPD.

There are, of course, the advertised game deals at Amazon for the week of April 20, 2014 but they appear to be retreads from a couple of weeks back. This includes $10 off the Xbox One controller plus “South Park: The Stick of Truth” for the PS3, Xbox 360 One and PC for $39.99, “Thief” for the PS4, PS3, Xbox One and Xbox 360 for $44.99 and $15 off both “NASCAR ‘14” and “Just Dance 2014”.

“Grand Theft Auto V” is on sale as well for $39.99 while “Sonic Lost World” for the Wii U and Nintendo 3DS are both $29.99. You also have the option of three Turtle Beach headsets for last-gen and current-gen consoles that are 20 percent to 40 percent off.

There are some other unadvertised deals at Amazon as well. This includes “Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze” for the Wii U at $39.99, Scribblenauts Unlimited 3DS for just $9.99. There’s also “Disney Infinity” play set packs featuring “Toy Story”, “Lone Ranger” and “Cars” available for $19.99.

Free shipping is available from Amazon for orders over $35 or for Amazon Prime Members. Sales tax may be applicable depending on the state you reside in, however.
