Section 4: Anger Management Story

Anger Management story title: Sam Self-Mentors versus Psychological Warfare

Teacher reads story to the class called “Sam Self-Mentors versus Psychological Warfare.”

B. Story Description: Sam was overwhelmed. Due to his Dad’s drinking and rage, Mr. Duncan lost his job and his wife. Then, he moved his son to a new town. Adding to all the other losses, Sam’s new best friend, Drew, deserted him to join Shawn’s gang. What will Sam do now that Shawn and his gang are starting to play their psychological warfare games on him?

Please note: This story is a prequel to the other two stories about Shawn’s gang:

Section 5: Popcorn Review

Directions: After reading each target story, spend a minute or two conducting a quick story wrap-up called a Popcorn Review. This gives students an opportunity to share their reactions to and impressions of the story characters and events.

A. Students participate in scripted role-play called “Sam Self-Mentors versus Psychological Warfare.”
