According to a Jan. 20 Chicago Tribune report, President Barack Obama took his official oath for his second term on Jan. 20 in a small private ceremony at the White House. Present at the intimate event were his family and U.S. Chief Justice John Roberts.
After reciting the 35-word oath read aloud by Chief Justice Roberts, the President hugged his First Lady Michelle Obama and daughters, Sasha and Malia. “I did it,” he said. “Thank you, sweetie,” he told his wife after she congratulated him. “Good job, Dad. You didn’t mess up,” a sassy Sasha told her told her dad. The ceremony took place on the ceremonial floor of the White House in the Blue Room.
The First Lady chose an American designer for this important occasion. She stunned in a blue Reed Krakoff dress and cardigan and accessorized with her fabulous new haircut – long blunt bangs. Her fitting blue dress matched the President’s blue suit and was a fine nod to the ceremonial Blue Room.
