Michael Buble has been confirmed as host for the 2013 Juno Awards.
According to a release posted announced Sunday at CTV.news.ca, the superstar Canuck crooner will handle emcee duties at the 42nd annual Juno Awards, scheduled to take place on April 21 in Regina, SK at Brandt Centre.
The “Haven’t Met You Yet” made the announcement during a 30-second CTV promo spot, aired during Sunday’s Superbowl in which Buble popped from under the covers in-between Canuck rock royalty couple Avril Lavigne and Chad Kroeger to confirm the news.
Juno week in Regina will run from April 15 to 21, 2013. Generally, the celebration includes a music festival, fan fair, hockey game and other activities in addition to the Sunday night awards gala, which will be televised on CTV.
Nominees for the Juno Awards will be announced February 19.
The Juno Awards are presented annually to Canadian musical artists and bands to acknowledge their artistic and technical achievements in all aspects of music. New members of the Canadian Music Hall of Fame are also inducted as part of the awards ceremonies.
