Hideo Kojima has provided an explanation in regards to the new graphics style for his upcoming multiplatform video game, “Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain,” which is being developed for the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360. According to a report by the unofficial “Metal Gear Solid” website on May 23, the game director mentioned that they are aiming for photorealism with the Fox Engine. However, he also disclosed that “artistic design” is also vital. You can check out the graphics for the open-world action-adventure video game in the slideshow at the top of this article.
Even with the photorealism approach, Hideo Kojima has yet to confirmed the potential ports of “Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain” to the PS4 and Xbox One next-generation systems. Instead, the upcoming title is being built using the aforementioned Fox Engine for the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 current-generation consoles. More details are expected to be revealed for “Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain” next month at E3 2013.
