According to NBC News Wednesday, Feb. 20, Maryland Lottery officials announced that one jackpot winner successfully matched all six Mega Millions winning numbers for the $26 million jackpot on Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2013. The Maryland Mega Millions winner purchased the jackpot ticket at a Shell station on Lakeview Drive in Mount Airy.
There were also six (6) Match 5 + 0 winners for $250,000 each. The Mega Millions winners purchased their lucky tickets from Arizona, Michigan, Missouri, New Jersey, Ohio and Texas for the Feb. 19 drawing. Each winner matched five out of six white Mega Millions winning numbers, but not the gold Mega Ball number for the second-tier prize of $250,000 before taxes.
In addition, there were also twenty-two (22) Match 4 + 1 winners for $10,000 each. If any of these winners also purchased Megaplier tickets for this draw, they'll see their prize winnings multiplied to $30,000 instead of the standard $10,000.
The next Mega Millions drawing scheduled for Friday, Feb. 22, will feature an estimated jackpot of $12 million annuity, or $8 million as the one-time cash option.
