Yet another Mega Millions Powerball winner has stepped forward. This is the third winner who will split the $448 million jackpot, according to an Aug. 25 Inquisitor report. Winning the lottery is unusual, and this time, there are at least three winners who struck it big.
The third Powerball winner from the Aug. 7 drawing is Mario Scarnici of Monmouth Junction, New Jersey. His share of the prize is $86 million before taxes, which ends up as $62 million after paying Uncle Sam. He purchased the winning Powerball ticket at Super Sop & Shop, in South Brunswick, New Jersey. What a lucky guy!
The winning ticket has been a huge boost for the supermarket too. Not only did the supermarket claim a $30,000 bonus for the winning lottery ticket, but also, the traffic to the store has increased.
According to night manager Jose Perez,
"We were happy first of all that we sold it. We sold a ticket before but nobody claimed it."
Amazingly, this is the second Mega Millions winning ticket in the Aug. 7 Powerball drawing to come out of New Jersey. The other was to the group nicknamed "Ocean's 16." The odds of winning this mega jackpot are 175 million to one, making it a truly strange thing to have won, and even stranger that two of the three winning tickets were sold in New Jersey.
