She’s got the beets! Karyn Calabrese, the high profile healthy living author and entrepreneur behind the popular restaurants Karyn’s Raw, Karyn’s Cooked, and Karyn’s on Green, will be putting her vegan culinary skills up against a meaty opponent this Sunday, October 21 from 4:00 – 6:00. Karyn will be preparing cruelty-free dishes at Lemon Tree Grocer, an upscale, independent grocery in west suburban Downers Grove, up against Tim Canning of Lemon Tree, who will be cooking meat. For $15 in advance ($20 at the door), the audience gets to sample Karyn’s vegan lasagna, sample organic wines and decide who wins the competition (go, Karyn, go!). It is all for a couple of good causes, too: Chicago Canine Rescue and Safe Humane Chicago.
