Meals on Wheels of Central Maryland’s 22nd annual culinary extravaganza

My May pick for a culinary charity event is Meals on Wheels of Central Maryland’s 22nd annual culinary extravaganza. Meals on Wheels of Central Maryland enable homebound seniors and disabled individuals to eat “well” and remain in their own homes. It is hard for me to fathom in this day and age, when food is in abundance that people are not eating due to lack of funds, age and disability.

Mark your calendar for Monday, May 19th to attend the “Around the World” themed wine and dine culinary extravaganza at the Grand Lodge Hunt Valley starting at 5:30 p.m. Dig into your discretionary funds and join us. It will be my birthday, so come sing happy birthday to me – that would be the best gift yet.

This year’s event features delicious cuisine from: Chef’s Expressions, Classic Catering, Innovative Gourmet, Pierpoint, La Scala, Clementine, Baldwin’s Station, Matsuri, Olive Grove, Sparrows Point Country Club, Spirit Cruises, Saval Foods, Inn at Colonnade, La Tavola, Captain James Landing, Café Cito and The Corner Pantry along with decadent desserts by Charm City Cakes, Dangerously Delicious Pies, Parfections and Flavor Cupcakery. Music will provided by Freddie Stevens Entertainment, Ltd.

Guests will enjoy fine wines and regional brews along with live and silent auction item. Also, individuals can pre-purchase raffle tickets ($50 each) for a one week’s stay in Paris as well as bid on a helicopter ride for 4 to the event by bidding on-line: http://www.mealsonwheelsmd.org/culinary/auction The winner of the Paris trip will be announced LIVE at the event. Winner does not need to be present to win.

The organization also provides grocery shopping and other community connections to help individuals maintain their independence and age with grace and dignity. To learn more about Meals on Wheels of Central Maryland and their programs, visit: www.mealsonwheelsmd.org, or call 410-558-0932.
