Little Matthew Monie, 6, vanished from a front yard in Shreveport, Louisiana just two days ago. On Sept. 15, 2013, police announced he had been found safe and sound in an Ore City, Texas home, according to KSLA.
A man has been arrested in connection with the boy’s disappearance, who police identified as Matthew’s father – also named Matthew Monie, 45. The Ore City home where Matthew was recovered belonged to Monie.
According to KETK NBC, investigators in Shreveport were contacted by Upshur County, Texas officials regarding Monie’s arrest.
At the time, he was with Matthew, who was not injured.
KETK reports that Monie’s arrest for interference with the custody of a child was facilitated with the help of the United States Marshals Fugitive Task Force.
Matthew is now in the custody of child welfare officials, according to KSLA.
Monie will be extradited to Shreveport to face the charges against him and is currently being held on $500,000 bond.
