'Married at First Sight': Couples deal with family and social life

During this week's episode of "Married at First Sight" on FYI on Tuesday night, the couples' main issues were dealing with family and each other's social life. While this might have been easy for couples who had known their partners before marriage, these were very challenging issues to explore for someone who had just met.

Jamie’s relationship with Doug didn't get off to a great start. In fact, she has said on many occasions that her wedding day was the worst day of her life. She still has not consummated her marriage; however, her feelings for Doug have changed. Even though her expectations weren't immediately met, she has found Doug to be a very good and patient person who hasn't pushed her into accepting him. He wants her to do that on her own. The newlyweds visited Doug' family. His mother says she is skeptical of Jamie. When they visited the trailer park where Jamie grew up, she was ashamed and embarrassed about her past. Doug assured her that he wouldn't judge her or anyone on their past whether it was good or bad.

Cortney says Jason's relationship with her is guarded. Neither one of them have met the other's family. Since Cortney is very close to her family, the expert finds it strange that Cortney had not introduced Jason to them who live in North Carolina. Jason's mother has terminal cancer, and Cortney doesn't want to intrude. Cortney is waiting for Jason to decide when they should met. Cortney's friend told her that if Cortney doesn't meet her soon, she might not get a chance to do so.

Jason went to see Cortney's burlesque show and said he was proud of her. She went to see him in a wrestling match. She was afraid for him as she watched a wrestling match for the first time. Since wrestling is Jason's passion, he said that if Cortney couldn't accept his wrestling, then she wouldn't be accepting him.

If physical attraction was all there is to a marriage, Monet and Vaughn would certainly be successful. They are the only ones who consummated their marriage on their wedding night. However, they began bickering on their honeymoon and still continues to do so. He resisted having Monet's friends over, so when they came over he left and didn't return the whole time they were there. He did give in and go to brunch with Monet's cousin and one friend. He said he was uncomfortable at first, but he did put forth a very good effort. Monet spoke of this experience as "a page-turner."

Since Monet can't cook and Vaughn constantly reminds her of that, the experts arranged for a chef to come to their apartment to give both of them cooking lessons. They bonded during this experience. According to Monet's Twitter page, she says she is married to Vaughn. This might mean that they have chosen to stay together after the five-week trial period.

Each one of the couples received a package in the mail. It was an enlargement of one of their wedding photos. They admired the framed enlargement and chose the spot on the wall for the photo. Each of the couples shared the task of putting up the picture which means they are relinquishing total control over things they could do themselves.
