A new round of gaming deals kicked off at Fry’s Electronics on Friday, May 30. The timing just happens to go along with the release of “Mario Kart 8,” which received a nice launch day discount, but also includes deals on PS3 and Xbox 360 consoles and games.

The price of “Mario Kart 8” was slashed $10 at Fry’s and is available for $49.99. The latest in the kart racing series also is bundled together with the Wii U for $329.99. Don’t forget that you can get a free downloadable copy of “New Super Mario Bros. U,” “Pikmin 3,” “The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD” or “Wii Party U” when you register the game on Club Nintendo.

Meanwhile, the Xbox One and 250GB Xbox 360 console both receive a near $100 discount at the retailer. You can pick up the Xbox One for $429.99 while the Xbox 360 console is marked down to $169.99 at Fry’s but there’s a catch. These deals are only good in-store and there are no shipping options. For Xbox 360 games, both “Fable Anniversary” and “Halo 4 Game of the Year Edition” are on sale for $29.99.

Over the on the Sony side of the till, you can get a factory refurbished 500 GB PS3 with a free copy of “Minecraft: Playstation 3 Edition” for $179.99. Be aware that you are buying a used console here though and all of the potential troubles that go along with it. The flip side is that we haven’t found an outpouring of complaints toward the refurbished consoles at Fry’s.

Multi-platform PS3 and Xbox 360 game deals include “South Park: The Stick of Truth” for $39.99 and “Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII” for $34.99. There’s also “Saints Row IV” available for just $19.99.

These deals will run through Thursday, June 5 at Fry’s Electronics. Free shipping is available for those items that are not in-store only. Sales tax may be applicable depending on the state you live in.
