Maria Rita to perform intimate show in NYC

Brazilian favorite Maria Rita is going to make a rare club appearance at the City Winery in New York City. She will be performing two nights in a roll, Sunday, 02/02 and Monday, 02/03. The singer is bringing her Piano & Voice show to the States, alongside pianist Tiago Costa, taking some time off recording her next album, set to be released this coming March. Besides cozying fans up with a stripped down, intimate gig, there will also be a post show meet and greet on both days. The tickets range from $55 to $70 and it's limited seating. They can be purchased here.

A star in her own right

Maria Rita is one of the most successful and recognized musical acts out of the Brazilian Popular Music scene of the past decade, to say the least. She has sold 2.5 million copies of her 4 studio albums in her home country alone, earned her fair share of Grammys and partaken in a wide sort of international music festivals, turning herself into a solid artist and shining a bright light on her own talent rather than being shadowed by her mother, the late-great Elis Regina.

Having her music spread across more than 80 countries, touring extensively and catching the eyes and ears of the likes of Quincy Jones, Maria Rita is far from settling down and more and more on ways to become an international household name when it comes to jazz, bossa nova, samba and all their many facets.

The performance she is bringing to the City Winery stage glimpses at her 11 years on the road, a time full of amazing experiences she shares whilst accompanied by Tiago Costa's beautiful piano playing.
