A man dons a pink tutu for his ailing wife and to raise breast cancer awareness, making headlines in the process. A New Yorker named Bob Carey has traveled the world, wearing a delicate pink tutu, just to bring a smile to the face of his wife, who was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2003.

According to a Dec. 15, 2013 report by Health Newsline, Carey is a photographer with a unique sense of humor. He took that love of photography and sense of humor with him on his journey around the world, taking photographs along the way.

A look at Carey's photographs shows the handsome, hairy and burly man clad in only his pink tutu posing on snowy city streets and in other various locations. Although his original intention was to cheer up his wife, particularly while she was going through chemotherapy for breast cancer, it soon grew to much larger proportions.

The New York photographer's wife shared the silly photographs of her husband with other women who were facing the same diagnosis, and those pictures cheered up the other women as well. It's a real life example of how laughter can really be the best medicine. After all, when a man dons a pink tutu, it's sure to make anyone smile.

Fortunately for the Careys and the rest of the world, it didn't stop there. After his photos became a viral sensation, he and his wife embarked upon The Carey Foundation and "The Tutu Project." A collection of his photographs became part of his self published tome "Ballerina."

A print run of 5000 volumes of "Ballerina" has been enjoying brisk sales. Three thousand of the books have already made their way into the hands of people who could use a good laugh, and seeing this man don a pink tutu is sure to do the job.
