A San Jose man has been arrested on homicide charges in connection with the suspicious death of his girlfriend last month.

According to San Jose police, 25-year-old Anthony Almaguer called 911 on September 14 to report that his girlfriend had committed suicide. The victim was identified as 24-year-old Andrea Theis.

Two of the department’s homicide detectives delved into the case and gathered evidence implicating Alamguer in Theis’ death, police reported today. Officials did not release further details regarding the investigation.

Almaguer was arrested Tuesday and charged with homicide. He was booked into Santa Clara County Jail and awaits arraignment.
