Madonna’s halftime show on Sunday night during the Super Bowl in Indianapolis had the world watching. The return to the spotlight at the biggest sporting venue in the United States had the audience observing every move of the entertainer, even when she slipped and fell during one portion of her performance. While the fall was rather minor, compared to the rest of the performance, it was an obvious issue for her as she had trouble regrouping to get into the pace of the routine once again.
Fans, for the most part, were sympathetic to the misstep. Being in front of millions of people with a dance routine on a stage that is lit up by lights in the sky isn’t the easiest venue. Knowing how hard it must have been, the fans defended the Material Girl when anyone said anything rude on Facebook or Twitter.
“It was a good show. Thank God she wasn’t hurt. Lay off,” wrote F. Durrell on his Twitter account responding to others who mocked Madonna for falling. Other fans wrote to defend her too. “It must be tough” wrote one fan and another shared “it didn’t impact the performance so shush.”
As pointed out, Madonna definitely didn’t get hurt when she fell and picked up right where she left off in the halftime sequence. Even though a few folks may point and laugh, unless an entertainer who has been on the field before her has a complaint, nobody is going to be listening.
Take a look at the video clip of Madonna’s misstep. She seemed to regroup and keep going quite quickly.
