"Pretty Little Liars" star Lucy Hale is ready to take the country music world by storm. With her debut single "You Sound Good To Me" already setting the pace -- it bowed at No. 21 on Billboard Hot Country Songs last month -- the album now has an official name.
"Excited to announce the title of my first ever album is #RoadBetween !! Can't wait to share these songs with u!" the singer, who appeared on "American Juniors" in 2003 (a spinoff to the ratings juggernaut "American Idol"), shared to her Twitter followers on Tuesday (Feb. 11).
The album's lead single, co-written by Ashley Gorley, Luke Laird and Hillary Lindsey and produced by Mark Bright (Carrie Underwood), officially shipped to radio last week. "You hear the story, 'Another actress does music,'" Hale told Billboard recently. "But that pumps me up and just makes me want to prove people wrong."
In the midst of promoting her solo music, Hale continues her stint on the popular ABC Family melodrama. "I'll ride out that show until it's done, just because that's allowed me to do this right here," she said to the magazine. "I don't think I'll ever quit acting, but in my heart, I feel like I'm a musician. I want to continue to make music for the rest of my life."
When she first heard her single on the radio, her reaction was as you could expect. "I was stuck in the world's worst traffic on the 405 in L.A. I was listening to the Highway on Sirius XM and my single came on -- I almost caused a pileup. What a cool feeling!" she recently revealed to Country Aircheck.
If there was a song she wished she would have written, Hale admitted that it would have been "Jesus, Take The Wheel" by Carrie Underwood. She explained, "If I could have written any one song, it would be 'Jesus, Take the Wheel.' I love songs that have a few stories within them but the same moral. This was the perfect lyric, with the perfect melody and the perfect vocal."
No release date has been set for the album. More details coming soon.
