Lotleth Troll - BG
Creature - Zombie Troll (Rare)
Discard a creature card from your hand: Put a +1/+1 counter on Lotleth Troll.
B: Regenerate Lotleth Troll
He hangs out in the lower town and watching, waiting eagerly that the rotting corpse carriers unload their cargo.
Revealed today in an article on the German website MagicSpielen.com, Lotleth Troll (which may translate to another name in English) is an extremely powerful creature in the right deck.
As a Zombie, you'll be able to discard Gravecrawler to Lotleth Troll to put a +1/+1 counter on it, then cast Gravecrawler from your graveyard. With Gravecrawler no doubt set to rise in price on the secondary market, you'll be able to find it in the "Death's Encroach" event deck.
Lotleth Troll has an incredible amount of synergy when combined with Scavenge creatures like Dreg Mangler and Deadbridge Goliath. If you have a Corpsejack Menace on the battlefield, you'll be able to double the amount of counters Lotleth Troll receives.
Regeneration is increasingly relevant with the absence of Incinerate, replaced by Searing Spear. With regeneration, Lotleth Troll will be able to swing again and again regardless of how many Murder or Dreadbore your opponent throws at it. Be on the lookout for white players who may be packing Oblivion Ring or Terminus. Blue players can handle Lotleth Troll with Unsummon or Silent Departure.
Late game you'll be able to sacrifice Lotleth Troll to Korozda Guildmage to create a swarm of creature tokens, Jarad, Golgari Lich Lord to make your opponents lose a massive amount of life, or Disciple of Bolas to gain a lot of life and draw a ton of cards.
Another neat trick you can do with Lotleth Troll is discard bombs like Griselbrand so that you can reanimate them with Rise from the Grave or Animate Dead for those of you who play older formats like Commander. Speaking of Commander, because Lotleth Troll deals with +1/+1 counters it makes a fine addition to any Ghave, Guru of Spores deck.
