Phillips rose to prominence in 2012 as a winner on "American Idol." His coronation song "Home" was a force to be reckoned with on the music charts soon after. The aforementioned track along with follow-up single "Gone, Gone, Gone" pushed his debut album "The World from the Side of the Moon" to platinum sales in the U.S. "Raging Fire" is the lead single from Phillips' second album.
Phillips found success in the folk-pop genre with his debut so he takes on more of that sound with "Raging Fire." Strings now accompany the track's upbeat jangle and thump production. Phillip embraces the heat of the moment when he sings, "Come out / come out / Won't you turn my soul into a raging fire?" His raw vocals only fan the flames of revelry and excitement. "Raging Fire" sounds like it could set the charts ablaze with Phillips' name once again.
Phillips' second album is set to be released later this year. He will return to "American Idol" on March 6 to perform "Raging Fire" for the first time.
