One can tell a lot about a movement by looking at who supports it.
The Occupy Wall Street protests are no different.
A post at Pajamas Media lists groups and individuals who have embraced or endorsed the protests that have now spread across the country.
According to Pajamas Media poster Zombie:
The Occupy Wall Street movement has received so much media coverage in recent weeks that it’s nearly impossible to keep abreast of all the developments. So many endorsements and criticisms coming from all directions enter the news cycle in such rapid succession that even the most dedicated news junkies may have missed out on many of the pronouncements. Supporters and detractors of OWS both might find it useful to have a handy all-inclusive list of who has endorsed or embraced the protest.
The list includes:
- The Communist Party USA
- The American Nazi Party
- The Ayatollah Khameini, Supreme Leader of Iran
- President Barack Obama
- The Government of North Korea
- Louis Farrakhan, Nation of Islam
- The Revolutionary Communist Party
- David Duke
- Vice President Joe Biden
- Venezuelan dictator Hugo Chavez
- Revolutionary Guard of Iran
- Black Panthers (Original)
- Socialist Party USA
- US Border Guard
- Industrial Workers of the World
- CAIR
- Former Speaker Nancy Pelosi
- Communist Party of China
- Hezbollah
- 9/11 Truth.org
- International Bolshevik Tendency
- Anonymous
- White Revolution
- International Socialist Organization
- Marxist Student Union
- Freedom Road Socialist Organization
- ANSWER
- Party for Socialism and Liberation
Links are provided at Pajamas Media for each of the groups and individuals listed.
Although not listed, a number of unions have expressed support for the protests, nor does the list include the Democrat-media complex that has fawned over the protests since they started.
GOP Presidential candidate Ron Paul has also expressed support for the protests, as has Gary Johnson, the former Governor of New Mexico.
Former Vice President Al Gore has offered his support, as has Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders.
Wealthy filmmaker Michael Moore also supports the protests, even though he is a member of the so-called "1 percent."
One commenter noted the National Lawyer's Guild is offering legal support for the protests, and one can find a list of "Occupy Legal Hotlines" at the group's website.
Poster "Zombie" notes that ACORN and the Working Families Party have also been added to the "pending" list, along with many other groups and individuals.
"As each new controversial endorsement has appeared over the last month, OWS supporters have dismissed them one by one as “isolated examples” that don’t reflect any overall trend toward extremism. But when viewed in aggregate like this, it becomes much more difficult to dismiss any individual endorsement as an aberration; instead, an undeniable pattern emerges," the post adds.
Indeed, a disturbing pattern does emerge. It is interesting to note that the President, Vice President, and former House Speaker stand shoulder-to-shoulder with groups like Hezbollah, the American Nazi Party and the Chinese Communist Party in support of the protests.
