Ethanol free gasoline has been a hot topic since the introduction of 10% ethanol cut in America's gasoline supply. Sure it reduces our dependence on foreign oil, but at the cost of the motorists pocket. Ethanol in gasoline used in marine, small engine, and aeronautical applications have severe affects and can ruin the motor. It corrodes the lines, ruins the gaskets, and basically destroys the engine because these engines weren't designed with ethanol usage in mind. Modern vehicles that have been designed with ethanol in mind still suffer from these same ailments, but will not show signs as rapidly.

Sports car enthusiasts actually use ethanol to their benefit when running forced induction because it has a higher resilience against engine knock and detonation. The cooling effect of ethanol's natural higher octane is used in conjunction with forced induction to counter act the natural effect of boost friction. Even though racers love ethanol mixed gasoline, this doesn't mean that it's right for everyone. If you are an avid non-ethanol gasoline user, I urge you to check out Pure-Gas.org and participate in building the definitive list of ethanol free gasoline stations through out the United States and Canada. Together we can succeed!

You have some great information here, Michael.
Thanks, Mike, for mentioning pure-gas.org in this article. Since this appeared in January, pure-gas.org has received a lot more traffic and, therefore, station postings, which are coming in at the rate of 5-10 a day now. You created a self-fulfilling prophesy. :) Much appreciated!
I put about 30,000 miles a year on our 2 new cars..Neither has EVER had a tank of gasoline with ANY percentage of Ethanol!! I keep track of Ethanol-Free Stations that I find, and will send them to "Pure-Gas.com ". I will also confirm any from your list, that I use.
OOP)S....make the " Pure-Gas.org "
Not a single station listed for Utah?
I wish I saw this site earlier! Great list to keep track of when I'm driving to different states now that I have learned more about Ethanol in gasoline. Thanks for the list.
I use E20 about half of the time, haven't noticed any problems. I googled it today because I heard a talk show guest say that ethanol destroys engines. There are a lot of articles on how it hurts lawn mower engines. Is the same true of car engines? I haven't noticed my car running hotter, I put over 25k a year on it, etc. I do notice that I can't use E30 as the car almost cuts out. It's an old '92, for those who don't know it regular cars can't run on E85, but they can run on E20 or E30, in fact the lower ethanol mixes were designed for regular cars.
I really like this site because I can find the best gasoline for my vehicles and I do not have to buy what the federal government tells me i can buy.
