Amazon has discounted the pre-order price for the upcoming multiplatform title, “Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII.” According to a listing update by the online retailer on Feb. 2, the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 versions now have a manufacturer’s suggested retail price tag of $59.99, which is the standard price for most new high-definition video games. Amazon previously listed the video game with a price tag of $69.99. “Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII” will be released for the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 consoles in North America sometime later this fall. The sequel to “Final Fantasy XIII” and “Final Fantasy XIII-2” is currently being developed by the Square Enix 1st Production Department with Square Enix handling the publishing aspects of the release. The story will follow Lightning as the main playable character and will conclude the saga.
