This is a special liberty alert for citizens who are serious about protecting their liberties and freedoms. The anti-gun tyrants, both inside and outside of government, have renewed their calls for massive, nationwide gun control laws. The renewed push is in response to the shootings in California over the weekend.
U.S Sen. Richard Blumenthal, D-Conn., appeared as a guest Sunday morning on Face the Nation to renew calls for drastic and restrictive gun control laws in response to the shootings. The march toward nationwide firearms restrictions as a consequence of the massacre at the Sandy Hook Elementary School in Connecticut served as the impetus for the push for gun restrictions. While several states in the northeast succeeded in passing such laws, the movement fizzled as the rest of the country made it clear that it is grossly unfair to blame all citizens for the actions of a tiny minority of dangerous criminals or severely mentally ill persons.
It is presumed that Blumenthal's renewed push to infringe on a right that the Constitution clearly states "shall not be infringed" will meet the same fate as the anti-gun push that occurred just after Sandy Hook. But when it comes to the forces of anti-freedom who wish to restrict citizens' rights across the board, from gun rights to freedom of speech, it is a mistake to presume anything. Collectivists never give up in their attempts to attack and roll back human liberty.
In addition, it should be noted that the latest shootings in California occurred in a state that has some of the strictest gun control laws in the nation. The collectivists who have managed to take over state government, from the governor's office to the legislature, and to it's two U.S. senators, have made sure that wacko environmentalist extremists have crippled the state's economy and to make sure that ordinary citizens are deprived of their use of guns. Yet it is here where the latest massacre occurred. The same thing was true about Connecticut.
The anti-freedom opportunists further fail to mention that three of those killed in California were stabbed, not shot. Yet so far, no one, not Sen. Blumenthal, not the leftwing family of the shooter, and nobody in the mainstream media has called for knife control or knife bans. In fact, most news reports failed to emphasize the fact that three of the victims were stabbed to death. College students in California are unarmed, disallowed to carry handguns, making them sitting ducks for madmen who go on murderous rampages.
Taking these matters a step further, information has been passed along that the vast liberty underground movement is taking the latest gun control push very seriously and with some degree of alarm. Gun rights activists lost a major case in D.C. recently when a judge ruled that its infringements on the Second Amendment do not violate the Constitution, in spite of a Supreme Court ruling just a few years ago that struck down most of D.C.'s oppressive firearms laws. Many believe that another showdown is headed for the Supreme Court over gun rights and that this time Second Amendment supporters may be handed a bitter and disappointing loss.
The other issue is that Democrats are running scared now that polls across the country are showing that they will lose control of the Senate and fail to win the majority in the House. This will mean that Barack Obama's extremist agenda will get nowhere, and there will be no Harry Reid in the Senate to block progress on much needed legislation on a myriad of issues. A major shift in power in the Senate could also enable Republicans to override Obama vetoes. Thus, many believe that collectivist extremists see the next few months as their very last chance at getting something major done about rolling back the gun rights of citizens. If they don't do it by November, it is probably a dead issue for at least several years to come.
One more cause for alarm is that the more government collectivists and extremist citizens who support taking away legal protections of the rights delineated in the Constitution, the more civil disobedience will be practiced. Americans have a long history of ignoring laws they believe are asinine and unnecessary. And multimillions have already said they will never allow any more gun and ammo restrictions to change their behavior.
This is key. The reason? As the nation witnessed at the Bundy ranch in Nevada, the armed cabal of the government tyrants are more than willing to point high powered, long-range assault rifles at citizens who are protesting peacefully. Had someone among the government tyrants fired a shot, that one shot would have plunged the nation into civil war. That is how close we came to war right here on our own soil.
If the anti-gun tyrants are serious about continuing to infringe on a right that our Constitution forbids being infringed, then one can rest assured that this course of action will lead straight to civil war.
In 1999 Mike Vanderboegh wrote a treatise titled, "Six Lessons I Have Learned from the 20th Century." It is vital reading. Here are a couple of key excerpts:
LESSON NO. 1: If a bureaucrat, or a soldier sent by a bureaucrat, comes to knock down your door and take you someplace you do not want to go because of who you are or what you think -- kill him. If you can, kill the politician who sent him. You will likely die anyway, and you will be saving someone else the same fate. For it is a universal truth that the intended victims always far outnumber the tyrant's executioners. Any nation which practices this lesson will quickly run out of executioners and tyrants, or they will run out of it.
LESSON NO. 2: If a bureaucrat, or a soldier sent by a bureaucrat, comes to knock down your door and confiscate your firearms -- kill him. The disarmament of law-abiding citizens is the required precursor to genocide.
LESSON NO. 3: If a bureaucrat tells you that he must know if you have a firearm so he can put your name on a list for the common good, or wants to issue you an identity card so that you be more easily identified -- tell him to go to hell. Registration of people and firearms is the required precursor to the tyranny which permits genocide. Bureaucrats cannot send soldiers to doors that are not on their list.
There is much more and it is therefore essential reading. Mike has been so dedicated to attempt to stop a civil war from happening that he has incessantly warned those in power what will happen if they continue down the present course toward a centralized all-powerful government entity that restricts the natural rights of citizens. The hope is that these warnings will give those in power pause, pause to consider the real consequences for themselves and for the nation as a whole unless they begin to leave the citizens alone.
