Les Miles interview via teleconference gave the former Oklahoma State University head coach a platform to respond to the Sports Illustrated allegations. Miles, 59, denied the SI report and came to the defense of OSU's program. According to WebProNews on Sept. 12, 2013, the investigation which spanned 10 years included Miles first year as head coach and the player payoff accusations.
During his time as head coach, Miles was proud and takes offense with “the idea that somebody would characterize the program that was run there as anything but right and correct.”
Les Miles interview responded to the OSU allegations covered here previously in, "OSU allegations: Sports Illustrated reports player payoffs, sexual favors (Video)." The SI five-part series called, "The Dirty Game," will cover sex, drugs, payments to players and grade changing. The articles connect him to OSU football team academic, behavioral and financial misconduct.
Les Miles interview was just the latest from the outspoken coach. He was head coach at OSU from 2001 through 2004. His tenure resulted in the OSU team being invited to three college bowl games. Miles is known as "The Mad Hatter," and is the current head coach at Louisiana State University.
