Despite an estimated party crowd of 330,000 people, last night's Las Vegas NYE celebration was one of the most orderly in recent history according to a Metro Police press release. As of 2:30 A.M. this morning, police had arrested only 17 people during the massive party scenarios on the Strip and at downtown's Fremont Street Experience.

Seven people were arrested on the Strip and six were arrested at the downtown area, all of which were misdemeanor offenses. Additionally, four people were arrested for driving under the influence violations. The full arrest report is expected to be released tomorrow.

This year's arrest report compares favorably with last year's NYE celebration in Las Vegas.

There was an early morning shooting this morning (5:30 A.M.) at the XS Cafe Bar on Jones Blvd near Spring Mountain Rd. One person was shot and listed in critical condition at Sunrise Hospital this afternoon. Two suspects are in custody according to police reports.
