Lakers Injury News: Xavier Henry reevaluation of knee injury pushed back

As if the current health issues for the Los Angeles Lakers wasn't bad enough, it may have gotten a bit worse on Monday with the team learning that Xavier Henry's reevaluation of a bone bruise will be pushed back according to Lakers Nation reporter Serena Winters on Jan. 6:

New UPDATE on Xavier Henry: timetable pushed BACK, will be re-evaluated on either next Mon. or Tuesday. More games w/o him...

Henry suffered a bone bruise in his knee back on Dec. 28 in the loss to the Philadelphia 76ers. Initially, the injury appeared to be severe due to the fact there was no contact when the knee buckled. Fortunately for Henry and the team, the diagnosis was only a bone bruise without a tear.

Although Henry could be in the lineup within the next few weeks, the fact that this reevaluation was pushed back isn't exactly a good sign. Not only will Henry be available for the short road trip in Texas, but it's likely he'll be out for the biggest road trip of the season that gets underway next week when the team faces the Phoenix Suns.

Along with Henry being the shelf a little while longer, the Lakers are also without Steve Nash, Steve Blake, Jordan Farmar and Kobe Bryant.

Needless to say, the team is about as banged up as can be right now with only Kendall Marshall being the healthy option at point guard.
