Labor Day weekend is finally here and Americans are in the mood to celebrate. According to a Dallas News report published on Aug. 29, millions of Americans are hitting the road for the long holiday weekend due in part to low gas prices. In fact, gas prices are at a four-year low going into the Labor Day weekend. Now that's some good news to celebrate!

Labor Day not only celebrates the end of the summer season, but also celebrates the American worker. Observed on the first Monday in September, Labor Day commemorates the contributions and achievements of the American worker. This important "workingmen's holiday" became a federal holiday in 1894. This year's event takes place on Sept. 1, 2014.

Whether you plan on celebrating the holiday by lounging around the pool, enjoying a smokin' barbecue in the back yard with a few of your favorite friends or watching a colorful parade, Labor Day is the perfect time to kick back and relax. Why not celebrate the long holiday weekend with a few of the refreshing cocktails listed below?
