Kim Kardashian has chiseled abs and is looking fit less than two weeks ahead of her May 24 wedding. Kardashian showed off her flat abs in a revealing Instagram photo, explaining, "Just finished my morning workout."

Kim also unveiled a possible wedding dress look in another Instagram selfie, where she donned a sexy strapless dress (see photo).

Kim, who lost 56 pounds just six months after giving birth to daughter North in June 2013, is continuing with her low-carb, high-fat ketogenic-style Atkins diet and has been exercising rigorously, combining cardio exercise with body-sculpting calisthenics.

Low-Carb Diets Promote Fast Weight Loss, Boost Mood

Kardashian's eating plan was a low-carb, high-fat ketogenic diet known for producing rapid weight loss. Her daily menu consisted of 1,800 to 2,200 calories and limited daily carb intake to about 50 grams.

Kim's daily menu combined proteins like fish, chicken and meat; healthy fats like olive oil, avocados and nuts; low-starch vegetables, and some low-glycemic fruits like berries.

Similarly, TV star Sharon Osbourne has maintained her 30-pound weight loss for more than two years by following a ketogenic Atkins diet that limits her carb intake to 25 grams a day, Atkins chief nutritionist, Linda O'Byrne, told me.

In addition to promoting rapid weight loss, research suggests the low-carb, high-fat Atkins and ketogenic diets fight depression and bipolar disorder.

"Low-carb diets keep blood sugar levels stable and prevent food cravings, which helps with mental clarity and boosts mood," said O'Byrne. "The intake of natural fats, especially foods high in omega-3 fatty acids, is also increased, which are linked with improved mood and reduced risk of depression."

Dietitian Dr. Jeff Volek, a professor at the University of Connecticut, agrees. "It was nothing short of an epiphany when I changed to a ketogenic diet 20 years ago," Dr. Volek, author of the Art and Science of Low-Carbohydrate Living, told me. "I felt better, more satiated, and had more consistent energy."

Kim also exercises almost every day, combining rigorous cardio workouts with strength-training and lots of squats. She varies her workouts, taking spinning classes at SoulCycle and Barry's Boot Camp sessions.

Kim Is Reportedly Doing Corset 'Waist-Training'

Not surprisingly, Kardashian's dramatic slim-down has spawned a spate of diet and weight-loss rumors. Recently, reports surfaced that the buxom brunette beauty was wearing a tight corset to bed every night to make her waist even smaller.

The measure sounds drastic, but actress Jessica Alba has credited wearing double corsets around the clock for three months for her dramatic post-baby weight loss. Some weight loss experts claim wearing a corset draws in the muscles around the core and helps you sweat out toxins. Other experts say wearing corsets do more harm than good.

"The problem is that when you constrict your waist, your organs have to go somewhere," said gynecologist Dr. Sarah Gottfried, author of The Hormone Cure. "Corsets push your lungs and liver up, and your intestines down. The result is a smaller waist, but organs are out of their natural placement in your body.”
