Kim Jong-Un's uncle, Jang Song-Thaek, executed

Kim Jong-Un’s uncle – Jang Song-Thaek - has been executed, according to Yahoo! News on Thursday. The once powerful North Korean was executed for treachery.

Last weekend, the uncle was removed from office when he was accused of basically “dreaming different dreams.” The latest news, accompanying the news of his execution says that North Koreans broke into angry shouts that there ought to be a stern judgment, “meted out to the anti-party, counter-revolutionary faction elements.” Accompanying the angered shouts, a special military tribunal of the DPRK Ministry of State Security was held on Thursday against Jang Song-Thaek – who was described as a traitor for all ages.

He was accused of possession a wild ambition to grab the supreme power of the party and state, according to the report. He was additionally called despicable human scum who – worse than a dog – perpetrated thrice cursed acts of treachery in betrayal of such profound trust and warmest paternal love shown by the party and the leader for him. It was also said through translation that the uncle had a dirty political ambition and dared not raise his head when Kim II Sung and Kim Jong II were alive. But, the translation continues, he had an axe to grind and involved himself in double-dealing.

Again, via translation which is often difficult from language to language, he was also referred to as an anti-party, counter-revolutionary factional element and despicable political careerist and trickster.

Regardless of the concerns with translations, it is clear that the military tribunal issued the judgment regarding Jang Song-Thaek to be death, and he has been executed.
