The Entertainment Software Rating Board has posted a rating for the upcoming PS4 exclusive video game, “Killzone: Shadow Fall.” The latest listing update on Oct. 8 revealed that the latest entry in the “Killzone” franchise got tagged with a “mature” rating, which is the same as the previous installments. The first-person shooting title contains contents relating to blood, intense violence and strong language. Moreover, the potential online user-generated contents were not rated.
The rating summary from the Entertainment Software Rating Board revealed that “Killzone: Shadow Fall” contains scenarios in which players can kill “non-adversary characters” such as civilians. However, such actions are discouraged in the game. The rest of the description contains standard details most players expect from a first-person shooting title. You can check out some screenshots of the latest “Killzone” video game in the slideshow near the top of this article and the rating summary from the ESRB below:
This is a first-person shooter in which players assume the role of a futuristic soldier trying to keep peace between two warring nations. Players use pistols, machine guns, explosives, and melee attacks to kill human soldiers in frenetic combat. Battles are accompanied by realistic gunfire, screams of pain, and large blood-splatter effects occur during combat. The game sometimes depicts close-up attacks against enemies (e.g., slashing/stabbing the neck). Players have the ability to kill non-adversary characters (e.g., civilians) in the environment, though these acts are not encouraged/rewarded. Cutscenes sometimes depict intense acts of violence: execution, self-inflicted gunshots, electrocution of a bound character. The words “f**k” and “sh*t” appear in the dialogue.
“Killzone: Shadow Fall” is one of the exclusive video games that will be launching along with the PS4 next-generation system in North America.
