A Henderson, KY, parent and son heading home after dinner out reported watching a "huge, cigar-shaped object traveling rapidly in the sky" about six times the size of an airplane about 4:45 p.m. on January 14, 2013, according to testimony from the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) witness reporting database.
The parent looked out through the windshield and first noticed the object.
"I looked and saw a huge cigar-shaped object traveling rapidly across the sky," the witness stated. "This object was much larger that a plane and seemed to be a very bright and shiny white. I screamed at my son to look and he looked up and saw it too."
They continued driving past their home to keep the object in view.
"It was traveling faster than anything I had seen before and was traveling low enough that it disappeared from our view as it traveled behind trees. We were both blown away by what we saw and agreed that it was definitely like nothing we had ever seen!"
No images or videos were included with the MUFON report, which was filed on January 14, 2013. The above quotes were edited for clarity. Henderson is in Henderson County, KY, population 27,952.

Kentucky is a current UFO ALERT 5 rating, with a low number of UFO sightings nationally. Kentucky had 10 reports in December 2012 - the 15th highest reporting state while California had 53 reports - the highest reporting state in the nation.

January 14, 2013, 4:45 p.m., Henderson, Henderson County, KY - I was headed home with my 21 year old son and saw the ufo out the car window. It was extremely large...about 6 times the size of an airplane and moving very fast. I pointed it out to my son and he saw it also. We watched it for abot 45 seconds or so. Case 45200.
I was headed home after getting pizza with my 21 year old son. I happened to catch movement at about 20 degrees through my front windshield. I looked and saw a huge cigar shape object traveling rapidly across the sky. This object was much larger that a plane and seemed to be a very bright and shiny white. I screamed at my son to look and he looked up and saw it too. I was on my home street but continued past my house trying to keep it in sight. It was traveling faster than anything I had seen before and was traveling low enough that it disapeared from our view as it traveled behind trees. We were both blown away by what we saw and agreed that it was definitely like nothing we had ever seen!
