Kelly Rowland talks engagement to Tim Witherspoon on Queen Latifah’s show

Tuesday, Kelly Rowland confirmed that she is, in fact engaged to Tim Witherspoon, her manager; Kelly Rowland announced the news on Queen Latifah’s show that was pre-taped on Tuesday; the show will air Wednesday, according to the LA Times. See the video above for news of the engagement between Tim Witherspoon and Kelly Rowland.

Rumors have been swirling for about a month and this is the first confirmation the couple has made themselves and the news has created a buzz. The couple has done a great job of staying out of the limelight while they got to know each other; the media rarely catches them together.

Kelly Rowland, 32, is a judge on the "The X Factor" and is a former member of the singing group “Destiny’s Child.” Rowland also said that Tim Witherspoon proposed to her via Skype when they were in different cities at the time.

Rowland said Tuesday on Queen Latifah’s show during the pre-taping:

"He put a ring on it” and the crowd at Queen Latifah’s show cheered and screamed out loud.

She continued:

“It's been a while. We've kept it very, very low -- for years, to be completely honest."

"He asked me first on Skype, and I was like, 'We're so far away from each other!”

"But it was so late. I remember we were both honestly just staring at each other and he asked me. And it was that simple to say yes. I have my best friend to ride through life with."

In 2005, Rowland was engaged to football player Roy Williams, but the couple never made it to the alter and broke up a few months before the scheduled wedding date. See the video above.
