Urban kicked off the performance with his band and after the first chorus Gary Clark Jr. took over the vocals. The rest of the performance featured the singers trading off vocal and guitar duties. At the end, Urban gave Clark Jr. a big smile and a friendly punch in the shoulder. In 2014 Gary Clark Jr. was nominated for two Grammy Awards. He won in the category Best Traditional R&B Performance for "Please Come Home" and his song "Ain't Messin 'Round" was nominated for Best Rock Song, but he lost in that category.

The song "Cop Car" is the third official single from Keith Urban's eighth studio album, Fuse. The album was released on May 14, 2013 and it reached No. 1 on the U.S. Billboard 200 chart. On the album recording of the single Gary Clark Jr. is not featured on the song.
