Time to celebrate! Joe
On Friday, the three-year-old Labrador retriever was found "not guilty" in a child bite case in Salem, Mo. The dog was completely exonerated of any and all wrong-doing by the judge who presided over the case.
The following statement was released on Friday afternoon:
"Accordingly the court finds that (1) Phineas had never bitten before and (2) Phineas is excluded as the cause of the injury to [the alleged victim] on the date in question...This court hereby, in accordance with the above, enters judgment in favor of Petitioners, orders that Phineas be returned to Petitioners, and permanently enjoins the City from euthanizing Phineas."
Judge Scott Bernstein 10-25-13
Earlier this month, Phineas mysteriously disappeared from the Dent County Vet Clinic where he was being held.
Now that Phineas has been located, he and his family can resume their life with a clean slate.
