Biggest Loser star Jillian Michaels doesn't want to get pregnant because she's afraid it'll ruin her lean physique. Instead, Michaels, 36, wants to adopt a child.

"I'm going to adopt. I can't handle doing that to my body," Jillian tells Women's Health. "Also, when you rescue something, it's like rescuing a part of yourself."

The single Jillian also says she's bisexual, admitting she dates both men and women. "I've been in love with both," she says.

SHE ONCE WEIGHED 175 POUNDS

Michaels, who's 5'2" and weighs 120 pounds, struggled with weight her whole life, ballooning to 175 pounds at age 12. Jillian says her parent's divorce at that time led her to overeat.

"I was an only child at the time, so there was nowhere to go with any of it," she recalls. "I felt abandoned." Jillian, who lost weight by dieting and martial arts workouts, doesn't ever want to return to her former size.  Jillian_Michaels_wont_get_pregnant_Women's_Health

Michaels, who has been a trainer on The Biggest Loser since its inception in 2004, wants to make a career change soon.

“I’m not going to be wearing spandex in a [workout] DVD at 40! If I am, shoot me,” says Jillian. “I want to empower people to find happiness via a healthy lifestyle, and when I say healthy, I don’t just mean diet and exercise. Those are just tools.”

Now a celebrity in her own right, Michaels is set to star in her own tv show called Losing It With Jillian, which debuts in this summer.  In the 8-part series, Michaels visits a different family every week to help them confront the issues that are hampering their health and happiness.

The series will also feature celebrity chef Curtis Stone, who'll educate the families on proper nutrition and healthy cooking. She's excited about how things are moving along for her professionally.
“[I’ve] been waiting for that moment," she says. "And now that moment is happening."

JILLIAN SUED OVER DIET PILLS

Meanwhile, Michaels is currently embroiled in a fraud lawsuit. A class action filed in February in Los Angeles alleges that her Maximum Strength Calorie Control diet pills are "worthless."

The plaintiffs' attorney, Melissa Harnett, said, "Telling people you take two magic pills and then eat chocolate cake all day is a deception." Michaels has denied the allegations and says she stands by her product. The lawsuit is pending.

    Dear Jillian --

Doing "that" to your body is how children are born. You obviously have money and a well kept body, but are your mind and soul healthy enough to love, nurture and guide a child? What moral example do you plan to set? Or does being a tv star exempt you from such things? There are many financial avenues in which you can help numerous children, but growing up might be desired if you were to take sole responsibility.

Yeah, and look what big fat cows Nicole Richie, Angelina Jolie, the late Audrey Hepburn and Demi Moore became after they got preggers and had kids. On the other hand, Jillian might have a real psychosis , body dysmorphia, in which case I feel kinda sorry for her. The problem is that people look up to Jillian and take her words to heart. Not sure what kind of message this will send.

GOOD FOR HER! Child birth is no picnic and women need to realize this.

If Jillian doesn't want to get pregnant that;s HER choice. And if it winds up with her adopting some parentless child, then good for her! There are too many people in the world anyway.

Adoption is truly a noble thing. But adoption is a multi-year commitment and not should not ever be done for the wrong reasons. The life of a child is precious -- adoption is meant to safeguard that gift, not fulfill a PR need or desire. A healthy environment is needed to cover all aspects of a child's development. That includes mental as well as physical health. Subjecting a child to unhealthy body image issues is sad at best and criminal at worst. Jillian seems to have severe fears of her body's natural capabilities. Should an innocent child be subjected to them?

Slight correction - "Losing it with Jillian" is premiering in summer, not fall, and it's not a talk show. She will stay in the home of one American family each week and help them conquer their unhealthy issues. Otherwise, great article with great content. I love Jillian. Thanks!

What a terrible PR move. The message this sends to me and other women who have just had babies is that Jillian Michaels doesn't know how to help someone get back into shape after a pregnancy, so her video would be useless. Considering that stay-at-home moms are probably one of the biggest consumers of exercise videos, this is dumb from a marketing perspective.

    dear jilian,
I think you will be a great mother if you adopt. Just hope you you let your baby decided if they choose to give nature birth or adopt. I'm sure you helped plenty of people who gave birth. It's just sometimes we can be harder on ourselves than working with others. I clearly understand what you are saying. One day I hope I get to meet you. Thats my dream before I leave this earth.

She definetely has issues, if she doesn't want to get pregnant because she might get fat! Why not just continue what your doing, just modified. If your eating healthy during the pregnancy, you'll bounce right back. I'm sure the money will help you stay thin too. I really have no respect for her. This is the most stupid, self centered article I've ever read! Maybe she should worry about her face now!
