There was no body part meme that took off like Angelina Jolie’s right leg this year at the Oscars, but according to a Feb. 24 report by E! Online, Anne Hathaway’s nipples were trying really hard to match the success of Angie’s infamous stem. The actress’ poky little pals even managed to get their own Twitter account under the name @HathawayNipple.
Anne Hathaway has been prone to wardrobe malfunctions all year long, so it’s surprising that she decided to rock a side boob-baring gown with darts right on top of her nipples. It’s almost as if she was hoping for some kind of dress disaster to go down, or maybe she just decided to troll everyone by drawing more attention to her naughty bits.
Anne Hathaway was one of the many actresses mentioned in Seth MacFarlane’s song “We Saw Your Boobs,” which was an ode to the numerous female stars who have shown skin in movies. Anne’s nipples certainly aren’t shy -- they’ve made appearances in “Brokeback Mountain,” “Love & Other Drugs,” and “Havoc.” However, Jennifer Lawrence’s boobs got a special shout-out in Seth MacFarlane’s catchy show tune since she's the only Oscar-nominated actress out of all of this year’s female nominees who hasn’t flashed her chest (other than youngster Quvenzhané Wallis, of course). Even 86-year-old Emmanuelle Riva stripped down in “Amour.”
But Jennifer Lawrence’s boobs didn’t get quite as much attention as Kristen Stewart’s bruised arm. The “Twilight” actress looked awkward and uncomfortable hobbling down the Oscars red carpet on crutches (she cut her foot on a piece of glass), and Anne Hathaway just had to make matters worse by being a smartass and telling K-Stew to “break a leg” before she skulked onto the stage to present an award.
Kristen Stewart’s bruised arm quickly became a hot Twitter topic, with “Arrow” actor Stephen Amell tweeting, “New Fantasy Football Team Name Idea: Kristen Stewart's Arm Bruise.” Unfortunately K-Stew never explained the origin of the bruise or why her hair was such a mess. It looked like she and co-presenter Daniel Radcliffe had been involved in some kind of wizard vs. vampire battle before hitting the stage together. But things could have been worse -- Kristen could have upstaged Angelina Jolie’s leg with a bloody foot. Before going onstage, she said about of her injured appendage, “I just hope it doesn't open up right now.”
So which celebrity body part should this year's Oscars be remember for: Jennifer Lawrence’s covered-up boobs; Anne Hathaway’s happy nipples; or Kristen Stewart’s bruised arm and lame leg?
