Jackson, 46, the most recent celebrity face of Nutrisystem, discusses her weight loss but not how many pounds she has lost. Jackson is famously and refreshingly private about letting on too much about her personal life. But she says she understands that people can relate to the universal issue of weight.
“I think people really connect with the idea of someone who’s gained and lost weight in this very public way, and also someone who’s an emotional eater,” Jackson said in the magazine.
And Jackson seemed to connect with customers – after Nutrisystem announced Jackson as its spokesperson in December, which kicked off the Nutrisystem Success plan, first-time orders surged.
Jackson has teamed up with Nutrisystem in another way – she founded NutriBank with the Pennsylvania-based weight-loss company. This year, Nutrisystem is matching every pound Americans lose on the plan with a dollar’s worth of Nutrisystem food, up to $10 million, to be delivered to hunger-relief agencies.
“We’re taking those pounds and turning them into dollars,” Jackson said.
