Jamie Foxx was in the building on Friday night for the NAACP Image Awards. While the accomplished actor was seen on the red carpet and he was on camera several times, it wasn't until the end of the show that the fans found out he was the NAACP Image Awards Entertainer of the Year.
In what was a surprising, but delightful moment the actor took the stage to accept the award. Sharing a few words, his speech was one of the most inspirational moments of the night. The fans gave the star a rousing response and everyone left the award show feeling inspired. Even though it was the final award of the evening, it might best moment of the night as the positive energy at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles was almost overwhelming.
The NAACP Image Awards is one of the biggest multicultural awards show. It celebrates the accomplishments of people in the fields of television, music, literature and film, and also honors individuals or groups who promote social justice through creative endeavors.
