On a tip provided by a concerned American yesterday, information has been discovered indicating a widespread network of radical Islamist sleeper cells in the U.S. that have quietly blended in with communities so as not to arouse suspicion. Evidence indicates that the cells are lying in wait, possibly in order to receive a signal to embark on a simultaneous mission to murder hundreds of citizens.
Several pieces of information from several sources indicate a troublesome scenario.
First, counter-terrorism experts have noted for years that the nation's borders are so shockingly insecure that terrorists would have relatively little trouble gaining entrance into the country, even legally. But what is even more troubling is their cargo--nuclear material in small quantities, so small as to be undetected yet potent enough to make nuclear 'dirty bombs' that could be simultaneously detonated in a dozen U.S. cities. Reports from 2006 indicate the problem, and little has been done in the years since to close the gaping holes in the nation's security at entry points.
Some counterintelligence officials believe that dangerous persons are already in the country preparing the bombs.
While a dirty bomb would not pose the same risk of mass destruction as Hiroshima, such a device could take out several blocks in a large city, killing hundreds of citizens at once. If a dozen or so of these bombs were detonated at once, in a dozen major U.S. cities, the death-doll could reach into the thousands.
Sources within the counter-terrorism community, speaking on condition of anonymity, stated that the cities that are at the greatest risk are those that are densely populated and located in the northeast, the Pacific west coast, Texas, Arizona, Nevada, Ohio, Florida, and other major populated centers around the Great Lakes.
U.S. officials insist that such terror cells are under surveillance and their activities are being closely monitored.
In a special report which aired last Friday evening on Sean Hannity's show at Fox News Channel, Middle East and terrorism expert Walid Phares reported that in addition to utilizing multiple dirty bombs, Islamists could also detonate one such bomb by sending a missile into the air, detonating the device aloft, and causing radiation to emanate across an entire region of the U.S., not only creating the potential for death but crippling U.S. satellites and communication devices, including computers.
Second, dirty bombs are not the only source of possible mayhem. According to Nicolas Contompasis, Muslim women have been buying up large quantities of pre-paid cell phones in the Valley around Fresno, California. Pre-paid cell phones not only provide opportunity for widespread anonymous communication but can also be used as detonating devices for roadside bombs.
Although the phones are often shipped out of the country through Canada to Afghanistan, where they can be used as triggers for roadside bombs, U.S. counter-terrorism experts have long feared that it is only a matter of time before such devices are used in the U.S. And, as the information provided by Contompasis indicates below, that time may be growing near:
If you weren't at Rotary Friday, you missed the only decent speaker we've had in more than a year. LTC John Cotter is the 144th Fighter Wing's anti-terrorism officer. John had a two-part presentation. First part was describing his job as the unit's anti-terrorism officer. Pretty standard stuff. The second part was information that will curl your hair. A Part-time air guardsman works as a checker at local Von's. Two women in full burkes buy every pre-paid cell phone in the store. Clerk/airman gets to thinking about it. Goes to Cotter and reports incident. Cotter asks store for surveillance video. It’s scary enough that he contacts Fresno FBI.FBI investigates and determines these women have been doing this all over the Valley. Cell phones shipped through Canada to Iraq/Afghanistan where they become triggers for roadside bombs. The Shell station at Peach and Shaw. Every time a local GI goes there in fatigues they are asked specific questions. What is your unit? When are you deploying? How many aircraft are you taking? The F-16s out of Fresno fly CAP for west coast. As such they are the first line of defense so they have the US’s most sophisticated air-to-air missiles. Foreign governments would like to get their hands on those missiles or at least learn how to build them. Also how many we have, etc? Two spy groups are working on it, one based at Fashion Fair Mall (the F-16s take-off pattern) and one based at Sierra Vista Mall (the F-16s landing pattern).Cotter said the rag-heads (but we don't profile) are always probing the base. Two dorks in a pickup show up at the front gate wanting to deliver a package marked Air National Guard, Fresno. No postage, no UPS, no FedEx, no DHL, no nothing. Just a probe. I asked Cotter why we haven't seen anything about this in The Bee, on KMJ, on local TV news. He said they're not interested. Since Friday I've learned of two other things. My brother-in-law Frank, (management at Avaya) had a Muslim tech who took a leave-of-absence for 6 weeks in Afghanistan. After the 6 weeks were up he called from New York requesting an extension. Frank (who does profile) said, you're fired, and called the Fresno FBI who was very interested. Don't know the outcome.
Apparently this activity is being monitored all across America in multiple areas of the country.
But what, exactly, is the purpose for this sudden interest in hundreds if not thousands of pre-paid cell phones? What is the motivation? What is the goal?
The communique from Contompasis digs further to discover some possible answers:

Finally one of the guys I grew up with called the FBI.We are a country at war and the enemy is among us. I don't care what Janet Napolitano says, it's a fight to the death and we should be prepared as possible. Brother-in-law Frank has a theory and I think it may be closer to the truth than Homeland Security wants to admit. There are a certain number (probably a large number) of Muslims among us who are awaiting the trigger date and will begin randomly killing as many of us as they can, sort of a Fort Hood on steroids. I know I'm getting prepared to shoot back. Two items of interest: Sheriff Margaret Mims wants to grant concealed carry permits to all who are qualified. Columnist Jim Boren, among the most bleeding of the bleeding heart liberals, says it's time for Fresno residents to arm themselves.
If such a scenario is being played out in a least a dozen different areas of the country, then Fresno is not the only place where citizens should take prudent, precautionary measures to protect themselves, their property, and their loved ones.
Jihadist Muslims around the world have been placed on notice that now is the time to begin to move against the United States, Israel, and 'infidels' who refuse to convert to Islam. Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has seized the widespread unrest throughout the Middle East to make a case for creating the perfect cirumstances for the appearance of the '12th Imam.'
Fundamentalist Muslims believe that at the end of time the 12th Imam will appear to insure that Islam reigns supreme over the entire world. Prior to that event there will be widespread, world-wide chaos. Many Muslims believe that they can hasten the day of the appearance of the 12th Imam by creating such chaos, and Ahmadinejad is one of them.
As the Middle East continues to descend into widespread unrest, radical Muslim groups have indicated that this is the time for Islamists to unite, move against Israel, remove the United States from the region, and rule over the area in what is known as a 'caliphate.'
And with Muslim terrorist sleeper cells in the United States lying in wait, events in the Middle East could be the very least of our worries.

Oh, I dunno. When the only BY NAME SOURCE is a 14-month-old hoax email debunked by the actual person named in the email - and debunked on one of the primary fact-checking sites - the credibility of the entire package is very much in doubt.
Throwing in the one actual point: that supporters had been buying cell phones and shipping them to bomb-makers overseas by tying it not only to a way too late legislative attempt -- by Chuck Freakin' SCHUMER no less!!! -- doesn't improve the credibility.
Oh I don't know about that--intelligence sources confirm that not only have such bulk buys occurred in California but in other states. You only show how ignorant you are about counter-terrorism.

Twit - the feds were after those cell phone bulk purchases by 2005 - and a lot more were going to drug dealers than were going to terrorists. And it is largely ceased to be an issue, because retailers either do not allow bulk sales or require ID and report them these days.

I reported suspicious activity of a business which had the front of a cookie place with some islamic cookie, that never opened their doors. but dailey trucks pulled in and out behind the store and in the garbage bin and out side their business were tons of cell phone clam packages that were emptied. and this was about two years ago..

I never in all my time in strategic security have read an article that racially profiled Arab Americans with small businesses and people(In Burkas) that cant qualify for a T-mobil subscription and are forced to purchase pre-paid phones or more minutes!! where I come from its called here say..The Arab American merchants that have US soldiers spending money in their store or business appreciate there business and if the merchant talked about deployment, its because the soldier brang it up!! In regards to the pre-paid cell phones and how they are used abroad was addressed by Washington. The new cell phones now have the tracking technology for signals Intelligence capabilities. Although the the old phones could be tracked abroad via MASINT/SIGINT. They could not be tracked in the U.S because of the Electronic surveillance Act in the U.S and all the opposition of the NSA. Regardless keep in mind that there many companies that have the pre-paid option with no contracts on a month to month bases and 40% percent are phantom names and addresses, no social security or ID requires..Example Metro-PCS and many others coming. the DOD has recently stated that this is another challenge in CI. Never the less terrorist are not idiots to subscribe to any phone service with there ID or their mothers kitchen sink blowing there cover. WAKE UP AMERICA! What we've seen in the past, was nothing to what they plan to do to us in the future.
They're all around us, and they mean us great harm. When the FBI goes to Atlanta and tries to talk an illegal from Lebanon waiting to be deported into going to work for them as a translator, after he gave large sums to terrorist groups here and overseas, it means our own govt is working against us. I pray we live through the next few months and our new President will make it a priority to remove every illegal from the US. Bring our military home and protect America and it's citizens. Remove the UN, use common sense in protecting our wonderful country.
