Will Ferrell was born on July 16, 1967. His complete name is John William "Will" Ferrell. The 47-year-old is an American comedian, impressionist, actor, producer, and writer. Will first established himself in the mid-1990s as a cast member on the NBC sketch comedy show "Saturday Night Live."

As of 2001, he officially become the highest paid actor ever on "Saturday Night Live." Out of sheer desperation to keep him, the show's producers made him offers that were reportedly well over $350,000.

As funny as Will is today, one might think he was born funny. Surprisingly enough, Will was not the class clown or even considered funny in high school. He was best known for his impeccable grades and dedication to athletics. During his high school days, he made the daily announcements of the school's speaker system, often using various voices and characters he had created. This is what first made him interested in performing.

Will was a star kicker for his varsity football team at his University High School in Irvine, California. It is rumored that he still holds the record for most field goals made.s He was on the soccer team and captain of the basketball team, as well as serving on the student council. He won the "Best Personality" superlative voted by his classmates.

After graduating with a bachelor's degree in Sports Information in 1990, Will knew he did not want to do broadcasting. He got a job as a hotel valet where, on his second day, he tore a baggage rack off the top of a van by trying to drive it under a low-lying beam. He also worked as a teller at Wells Fargo, but came up short $300 the first day and $280 the second; he was not stealing the money, but was just careless and error-prone.

In 1991, encouraged by his mother to pursue something he liked, Ferrell moved to Los Angeles. He successfully auditioned for the comedy group The Groundlings, where he spent time developing his improvisation skills. The rest is history.

From his incredible stint on Saturday Night Live to memorable movies such as "Old School" and" Elf," Will has captivated audiences across the world. He and his Swedish wife, Viveca Paulin are dedicated runners and have completed such races as The Boston Marathon in 2003 and The New York City Marathon in 2001. They are the proud parents of two sons: Magnus, born Mar. 7, 2004, and Mattias, born Dec. 30, 2006.
