If you had a choice to be highly intelligent or highly motivated, which would it be?

Motivation as defined by BusinessDictionary.com means, “Internal and external factors that stimulate desire and energy in people to be continually interested and committed to a job, role or subject, or to make an effort to attain a goal. Motivation results from the interaction of both conscious and unconscious factors such as the (1) intensity of desire or need, (2) incentive or reward value of the goal, and (3) expectations of the individual and of his or her peers.”

According to Merriam-WebsterDictionary.com, intelligence means, “the ability to learn or understand or to deal with new or trying situations.”

If you were smart enough to always know what to do but you didn’t have the motivation to actually follow through with this ability in order to reach a resolution, how happy might you really be?

Motivation can make or break you; it’s the difference between feeling stuck and depressed or being sad but understanding that you must do something about it in order to uplift your spirit and move forward again.

It is the difference between feeling uninterested in your life or invigorated by your life.

As its definition says, the miraculous energy of motivation can be summoned into your life by surfacing your desire, an incentive to do better and an expectation of an improved outcome.

What is holding you back? Does the worry of failure smother your motivation?

Winston Churchill once said, “Success is walking from failure to failure with no loss of enthusiasm.”

The bottom line here, how has what you’ve been doing benefited you?

This anonymous quote offers some food for thought, “If you do what you always did, you will get what you always got.”

Motivate yourself to step outside of your comfort zone and try something new, who knows, it might just be worth your effort; many times change is a good thing. Are you motivated enough to find out?
