On Monday, police in Tulsa arrested Rigoberto Piedra, 33, after he reportedly abused and raped a woman for two days in her home, as her young children looked on.
Piedra tied the victim's hand and feet "to keep her from escaping or calling for help for several hours," according to court documents.
Tulsa World reported:
The woman told detectives that Piedra punched and kicked her and pulled her hair on Sunday and Monday at a residence in the 7800 block of East King Place, an arrest report says.
She said Piedra also pointed a gun at her, choked her until she lost consciousness and then raped her with an object, according to the report.
The woman was admitted to Hillcrest Medical Center for treatment of the numerous injuries she received during the ordeal.
Piedra has been charged with rape by instrumentation, pointing a deadly weapon with intent, kidnapping, and domestic assault and battery by strangulation. He is currently being held at the Tulsa County Jail on an immigration detainer.
Piedra's next court appearance is scheduled for Feb. 11.
