An Idaho school bus crash happened just before 8 a.m. Thursday morning in Kuna that left one child dead. Miami Herald reports Dec. 5 that at least four others were injured after the school bus carrying elementary school students collided into a dump truck.
Emergency responders have been called to the scene and are currently working with the young passengers. Canyon County Sheriff spokeswoman Theresa Baker confirmed the death of one child and said the family has been notified. She said about 10 children from the sixth grade and younger were on the school bus heading to Crimson Point Elementary School.
Baker said the school bus was rear-ended by the dump truck at an intersection. Fault for the accident hasn't yet been determined.
Kuna is south of the city of Nampa and about 30 miles from Boise.
Medical staff at St. Alphonsus Regional Medical Center officials have been alerted to expect four patients injured in the Idaho bus crash.
It's tragic that a young life was lost in this incident. Going by reports over what happened, it was something that should have been avoided.
