There is an outreach book for children published as a practical and fun way to teach kids about compassion while encouraging pet adoption. Entitled Cat Tales, the book shares the stories of nine cats. Each cat, related to one another, was adopted in real life by the author and her family.
As the story goes, during their experiences they learn about the importance of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. All is intended to set good examples for children of all ages, both male and female, and be especially appealing to pet lovers to help encourage pet adoption.
Author Teresa Herbic is the Director of Family Groups at Pleasant Valley Baptist Church and Families for Adoption, an international and domestic adoption, foster and orphan care network. Her passion is aiding and rescuing orphan children and animals.
