Howard Stern may have just recruited America's sweetheart for the new season of "America's Got Talent".
Stern's satellite radio show returned live Wednesday and the King of All Media revealed that he spent his holiday vacation in Mexico hobknobbing with the Hollywood elite, including the newly engaged power couple Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux. Stern says Aniston may be the latest celebrity to hit the reality competition judging circuit.
"She became a huge fan ‘AGT’ this season," said Stern. "And she was saying: ‘Hey, I’ll be a guest judge!’ So I was like: ‘I’ll get right on it! That would be fun.’ So, I contacted ‘America’s Got Talent’. They were excited about it, but I think it’s already not going to happen...Because she came to her senses…She should do it. It would be fun. But, you know, I think once your manager gets involved—when ‘America’s Got Talent’ called my manager, the first thing he said was ‘I wasn’t even going to tell you about this because you’re not going to do it.’ And I went ‘Why not?’ [And he said] ‘Well, why would you do that?’ And I said, ‘Well, cause it might be FUN.’ And then I took a meeting with him and it developed into something. I know that managers and stuff get involved…if you’ve got a major career going, they’re like: ‘Well, you can’t be on that.’…Everyone’s afraid.”
So far, Howard Stern is the only judge officially signed on for Season 8 of "America's Got Talent". Sharon Osbourne quit the show over a personal dispute with NBC at the end of Season 7, and Howie Mandel is reportedly still waiting for an offer from the network.
