The Golden Globe Awards Sun., Jan. 13, 2013 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel should be renamed the Glamour Globe Awards because fashion had quite the night out, a night to remember full of sparkle, glitter and gold.
Five in red, six in white, ten or more wore black and the rest something or another were the predominant colors of choice for the evening.
Lace, beaded sparkle bodices, gold belts and vintage inspired gowns (Catherine Zeta-Jones) were some the fashion highs while frumpy floral patterns on an oversized dress, (Lucy Liu what were you thinking?) odd and unusual colors, (Lena Dunham) and weird corseted waistlines (Nicole Kidman) were some of the stylish lows.
E! Online @eonline tweeted this question to the fans, “Now tell us: Who made your best dressed list for the Golden Globes?” @eonline twitter fans answered, “Jessica Alba, Jennifer Lawrence, Anne Hathaway and Kate Hudson hands down.”
With out a doubt stunning actresses Jennifer Lawrence in her wow wonderful red dress and Claire Danes jumping out of her sweats into her Versace red halter with her flowing blonde hair stole the show.
Randee Dawn and Ree Hines, TODAY contributors tweeted, “If the Golden Globes ever had a "golden girl," actress Claire Danes would be it. Danes looked stunning in a flowing red gown just one month after giving birth to her first child -- a son, Cyrus, with actor Hugh Dancy.”
Anne Hathaway’s two-piece haute couture Chanel white sparkler did absolutely nothing for me and Lena Dunham in her purple dress looked utterly ridiculous hobbling up the stairs to the stage to receive her awards.
Director Jodie Foster in shimmering blue ranted about being done and coming out that she’s single. Actress Jessica Chastain gracefully delivered an impassioned acceptance speech looking like a vision of loveliness and beauty.
Jay Manuel @MrJayManuel tweeted, “Naomi Watts in @zacposen was such a refreshing classic twist on Hollywood glam.”
Yes, Naomi was gorgeous but what’s on the way? Why the ‘Oscars’ of course.
