Help needed for sexually abused dog

Previously I have written about the fact that bestiality/zoophilia is legal in 17 states.  It's a disgusting fact and is something that truly needs to change.

In DeFuniak Springs, FL, Janey is the innocent victim of sexual abuse and neglect.  Her desperately sad and pleading eyes speak volumes about her suffering.  The perpetrator, Eugene Hickman, 54 years old and a grandfather no less, was arrested after it had been reported by his grandson that he was caught while in the bedroom of their home, naked and on top of the dog.

Hickman didn't deny that he'd committed this horrible act.  In fact, he stated to police that he knew it was wrong and promised not to do it again.  But Janey's body is clear evidence of a lifetime of abuse.  While Janey is only 3 years old, she clearly has suffered for her entire life. Hickman was charged with one count of felony animal cruelty, but it remains to be seen if he'll get anything more than the usual legal slap on the wrist that most animal abusers end up receiving.

Janey and her life moving forward is the most important thing, however.  The wonderful organization, Noah's Arks Rescue, stepped up immediately after Janey was seized, trying to get her to their facility right away.  After some delays she was finally turned over to Noah's Arks Rescue, where the intensive rehabilitation for this precious girl is underway.

Janey is suffering from Demodectic mange, which can flare up when a dog's immune system is compromised.  Dogs who are enduring extreme neglect or cruelty become emotionally and physically stressed, and this type of mange can take over, causing the dog even more suffering.  Janey was also emaciated when she was seized, with her poor little hind quarters showing the clear signs of being rubbed bare and raw from all of the sexual abuse.  She also has an eye infection and sores all over her abused body.

A Chip-in has been established for Janey's care with Noah's Arks Rescue.  The estimates for her care at the 501c3 nonprofit organization are close to $5000, including veterinary care, medications as well as her basic needs of food and shelter.

Please consider making a donation for this precious girl.  No donation is too small.  Janey needs to know that not all humans are monsters who want to hurt and abuse her.  Janey was not her original name, but the staff at Noah's Arks Rescue renamed her, wanting her to have a brand new life that will be forever changed for the better.

Thanks to the kind and wonderful hearts at Noah's Arks Rescue, Janey's future will be filled now with caring hands and loving hearts.  Hopefully the sadness in her eyes will one day be replaced with the joy that every dog deserves to know.
